The five minutes
An example brief for an invented town. Items are made up for the design.
1
Weather and roads
Example: fog until nine, one lane closed on Example Street.
2
Council and schools
Example: a meeting tonight, a bus route change tomorrow.
3
Business and jobs
Example: a sample cafe opens, a made-up shop hires.
4
What's on
Example: a market on Saturday, a talk at the library.
5
One good thing
Example: a fictional neighbor finishes a mural.
Local, or niche, but never national by default
The same brief could serve a town, a harbor, a trade or a hobby: one reader group, one morning habit.
